Antibodies (scroll here for a picture)

These are large globular Glyco-proteins, also called Immunoglobulin proteins, are released by lymphocytes into the blood plasma.

They are extremely selective and only react with specific antigen molecules. There are many different types of antibodies but they all have a basic Y shape.

They have 2 identical arms which bind to antigens and a stem which recruits other parts of the immune system.

They group pathogens together and mark them for macrophages to eat.

They present the antigen on their MHC2 Marker on their surface. Click here for more informaiton on MHC markers Macrophages can also present antigens to T-cells
